According to TMZ, Mike “the Situation” of MTV Network’s Jersey Shore has entered into a rehabilitation program for prescriptions and alcohol. TMZ raises an interesting question on the viability of the show should he decide to go sober.
Perhaps it really might add some necessary intelligence to the show – or rather in reality TV terms, more conflict. Such conflicts can bring in new viewers as well as retain burned-out viewers bored my the standard cat-fight drunk drama the show is known for.
While TMZ posits “if they don’t let him drink, there’s a good chance they will lose viewers.”, we’ll disagree and contend that it would add to the viewership as finally a sober voice of reason (aka the voice of the viewer who’s been watching this train wreck) may get a audience within the circus.
