Your Own War on Leaks

If there is one constant in this world, there’s a basic that most machines are not designed to leak.  This goes both for the White House or your own house.  This thought occured to me as I noticed the pattern of two new dark spots underneath my lovely car in my driveway…

Quick flashback to a number of nice vehicles I could like write off to some form of lack of lubrication – oil leaks the worst culprit; low brake fluid can lead to less than reactive brake response, etc.   And sure, the two-stroke motor has it’s own oil & gas mixture -> emissions, but in general, most machines don’t leak under normal circumstances, for most people.  {There, with that disclaimer I hopefully covers any rebuttals from engineers…but I could be wrong}

Leaks, for that matter, are usually not a good thing – in and of themselves.   Leaks to the media, leaks in the ceiling, leaks in your master plan.  All of these need to be checked out.  If you need to, go write a list of the leaks in your life and decide which ones would be best plugged immediately for the most benefit.   Worst case scenario, choose the easiest one and get that out the way and you’ll feel good about getting something done.

Bottom-line, don’t let a little leak turn into a big leak – deal with it right away and you’ll save bazillions in time and money not spent later.
